Hi-ho silver! Tarpon are getting thicker and thicker! The Everglades out of flamingo on the west coast is the meeting grounds for these migratory tarpon to come and hangout and feed! Staging for the migration! We had a light front come through this week just like last year but the fish were still happy and around. Targeting these fish on fly and spin is easier then fishing the Oceanside migratory fish. Hook up ratio is extremely high! When they slow down we have been changing it up to fishing the mangroves for snook and baby tarpon! Weather is getting more and more predictable as we move further into spring and summer!
Tarpon are not the only plentiful fish going off right now! Bone-fishing in Islamorada Florida keys and Biscayne bay is extremely hot right now! Love using shrimp to get multiple fish to eat! However accurate fly casting has been giving us great shots at these fish with the occasional Permit coming through! As we move closer into spring the permit will start to show up more and more giving us a few more shots then we have currently but still one of the hardest fish in my opinion to feed on fly! They are not loyal fish lol The peacock bass fishing is getting hotter as we get closer to their spawning season in may. They are always fun to go target on fly and light tackle whether it’s bait or lures! We have some dates still open for may and June prime tarpon dates! Reach out to us and let’s get out there and sling feathers!
