Another great Tuesday is Everglades National Park for Scott! Started out the morning poling the edges of flats waiting for the water to start rushing in with the Tide and man did it work-out for us! Right off the back the redfish were hungry! All fish were just sitting still on the edges of holes just waiting for something to swim by. After catching a few reds on the incoming we switched our gears to fishing pot holes on the flats for snook and they were just as Happy! For the day we caught lots of redfish and snook and few trout and pulled the hook a few times on tailing black drum! This is my favorite time of year for poling the flats or live baiting creeks and runoffs! Lets get out on the water!

Danny and Pedro got it done on artificial today in the wind! Started out the morning poling the flats. Before I could jump up on the poling platform Pedro was hooked up with a Redfish. Right then I knew it was going to be a good day. We had the right wind that was helping clear the dirty water on the flats which is partly due to the west wind we had the day before and for the lack of grass beds that died off that are not there to help clean the water. So the water was fairly clear the entire time. We saw countless amounts of big Snook and Redfish blowing out of pockets. The boys started seeing the fish before they blew out and when they did they hooked up every time. We only poled for a few hours before we decided to go see more of Everglades National Park. We cam across some nice Snook. We caught a few and broke off a few. Found a few laid up tarpon but they were more interested in blowing up Tarpon and the wind picked up at that time which made the fish want to sit lower in the water column. In all we had a great day on the water and the guys look forward to fishing again real soon! The fishing will continue to get better as we get more into spring and closer to summer! I can not wait to see what the next 5-7 months bring to us! Still have a few dates open for the end of April so give me a call and lets get out there whether its bait, artificial or fly. Tight Lines!
In the past few years I have been expanding my knowledge of fisheries to learn new areas and learn new things! I have been fortunate enough to fish some of the areas that I dreamt about fishing as a kid! One of those areas in Chokoloskee and the 10,000 Islands! These fisheries are always surprising! There are plenty of happy fish as well as some slobs that hang around! It defiantly is worth checking out. The fishing is heating up of there! We threw fly all day catching redfish, snook, trout and tiny micropoons due to the wind was just crazy on the edge. But it was still an awesome day to be on the water and fishing the glades!
It was a Great two days of fishing with father/son duo Greg and Jacob! Flew on a red eye straight to the Glades to do a little fishing! Before the the trip they both mentioned that catching quantity and variety of fish was the game plan! They did just that! We lost count of the number of redfish and snook we hooked up with! I couldnt keep up baiting hooks fast enough as fish were coming in the boat! They caught Redfish, Snook, Black drum, sheepshead, tarpon, jacks, snapper, and the rare ladyfish! Had a Blast showing them what early spring time fishing in the glades is all about! Jacob mention when he finishes school he wants to move to the glades in south florida and fish everyday! Look forward to fishing these two again in the future! Here are a few photos from out adventure in the glades!
Hey there anglers!
With the Hurricane upon us the fishing will continue to be great and it should help set off the bait run a little more! Fishing in the backcountry has been phenomenal for fly fishing and baitfishing! Few of the big tarpon are around so if your patient enough and wanna wait a catch one there are opportunities! Snook and Redfishing all up and down the coast has been solid. The fish super happy and ready to eat what ever swims there way! It is going to be a great season for us here in Evergladrd National Park! So the back country fish are hungry and waiting. On the offhsore side of things the sailfish are starting to show up more and more each day! With the wind supposed to be out of the west with this storm then the water will be great not to rough. Lets get you out there and on the water to make memories! Its that time of the year! Temperatures will start to decrease as the fishing starts to increase! The bait run is starting to happen! Starting with the little baitfish pushing down the coast! The bigger bait will be arriving shortly as well! But the fishing currently is on fire! Multiple snook redfish and tarpon days! This is my favorite time of year by far! Tends to be tidal so its easier to work with starting times just so we can fish the certain areas and have great days! Tarpon are still around if you are seeking to catch one on fly or spinning tackle! It just comes down to the presentation of the bait! Watch out for the photos and more reports in the coming week!
The "No School" has come to an end but the fishing is still going strong! It has been a very productive summer and it is currently looking like the Fall will be just as good or better! We have been catching tons of Snook, Redfish, and black drum! But the Silver King is still hanging around and showing off! Few of the resident Tarpon have been very happy in the Back Country and have been super hungry! Fishing is stronger everyday! So give me a call and lets get you out on the water! But not only have all fo the guides/captains been busy catching fish and making memories for clients. We have at the same time been fighting to protect these waters and the waters surrounding the Everglades. Huge thanks goes out to Captains For Clean Water and the captains helping them fight! We have made progress but still need to keep it going so our future generation will be able to enjoy fishing these waters! Look into Captains for Clean Water and help us raise money! When you sign up, donate or buy products from captains for clean water I will give a $50.00 discount on the next charter! Please sign up and help! In other news, last month was our 3rd annual Project Healing Waters event! Where for two days a few of the local guides and businesses support wounded veterans by taking them out on the water in the Everglades! For some of the men and women it is their first time experiencing this amazing place! Gives them the opportunity to enjoy a place that they all fought so hard for us to be able to fish on a daily basis! Look forward to next year! If youd like to help out next event reach out to me and I will get you involved! Hey there Anglers,
Things have been heating up in the Everglades the last few weeks and the fishing will only get better! Just recently we the most sought after species of fish have shown up for this year migration! That's right people that means the TARPON are here! We have been having double digit days on hooking up with tarpon ranging from 80-170 pounds on fly and artificial baits. By watching how these fish are acting they are super excited just as much as us Tarpon junkies are! They seem so happy that I believe that its going to be an excellent Tarpon Season! Stay tune for pictures and videos! Contact me via phone for any charter requests and lets get you out on the water! Cap HEY ANGLERS,
