Danny and Pedro got it done on artificial today in the wind! Started out the morning poling the flats. Before I could jump up on the poling platform Pedro was hooked up with a Redfish. Right then I knew it was going to be a good day. We had the right wind that was helping clear the dirty water on the flats which is partly due to the west wind we had the day before and for the lack of grass beds that died off that are not there to help clean the water. So the water was fairly clear the entire time. We saw countless amounts of big Snook and Redfish blowing out of pockets. The boys started seeing the fish before they blew out and when they did they hooked up every time. We only poled for a few hours before we decided to go see more of Everglades National Park. We cam across some nice Snook. We caught a few and broke off a few. Found a few laid up tarpon but they were more interested in blowing up Tarpon and the wind picked up at that time which made the fish want to sit lower in the water column. In all we had a great day on the water and the guys look forward to fishing again real soon! The fishing will continue to get better as we get more into spring and closer to summer! I can not wait to see what the next 5-7 months bring to us! Still have a few dates open for the end of April so give me a call and lets get out there whether its bait, artificial or fly. Tight Lines!

Its that time of the year! Temperatures will start to decrease as the fishing starts to increase! The bait run is starting to happen! Starting with the little baitfish pushing down the coast! The bigger bait will be arriving shortly as well! But the fishing currently is on fire! Multiple snook redfish and tarpon days! This is my favorite time of year by far! Tends to be tidal so its easier to work with starting times just so we can fish the certain areas and have great days! Tarpon are still around if you are seeking to catch one on fly or spinning tackle! It just comes down to the presentation of the bait! Watch out for the photos and more reports in the coming week!
The "No School" has come to an end but the fishing is still going strong! It has been a very productive summer and it is currently looking like the Fall will be just as good or better! We have been catching tons of Snook, Redfish, and black drum! But the Silver King is still hanging around and showing off! Few of the resident Tarpon have been very happy in the Back Country and have been super hungry! Fishing is stronger everyday! So give me a call and lets get you out on the water! But not only have all fo the guides/captains been busy catching fish and making memories for clients. We have at the same time been fighting to protect these waters and the waters surrounding the Everglades. Huge thanks goes out to Captains For Clean Water and the captains helping them fight! We have made progress but still need to keep it going so our future generation will be able to enjoy fishing these waters! Look into Captains for Clean Water and help us raise money! When you sign up, donate or buy products from captains for clean water I will give a $50.00 discount on the next charter! Please sign up and help! In other news, last month was our 3rd annual Project Healing Waters event! Where for two days a few of the local guides and businesses support wounded veterans by taking them out on the water in the Everglades! For some of the men and women it is their first time experiencing this amazing place! Gives them the opportunity to enjoy a place that they all fought so hard for us to be able to fish on a daily basis! Look forward to next year! If youd like to help out next event reach out to me and I will get you involved! |
