This past weekend was the Annual Hell's Bay Owners fishing tournament and get together out of Islamorada, Florida. It is always a great event to get everyone together to have drinks and share fish stories and also do a little competitive fishing as well! As usual when you say tournament its like the wind hears you and decides to blow. But that did not stop my recent Hells Bay owners from catching fish! They stuck it out, catching over 30 reds and 20 snook. We saw tarpon and bonefish but they just were not happily eating. We set out from Anglers House Marina and head out to catch the Redfish and Snook in the glades so we could target the other species near mainland when wind calmed down. Man it was pretty intense making it across Florida Bay to the coast! We started catching fish as soon as the first line was thrown! We continued to fish the areas until we though we had enough to go after other species! We got back to mainland area and hit a few flats that hold fish and we saw a bonefish but just spooked fast! It was a great tournament! At the end of the day we all were having dinner as the awards started and it turned out the my man Luke won Top Junior Angler of the event! He was stoked! I knew we caught an abundant amount of fish and had a good chance of winning something and we did! Great first event dude!

Its that time of the year! Temperatures will start to decrease as the fishing starts to increase! The bait run is starting to happen! Starting with the little baitfish pushing down the coast! The bigger bait will be arriving shortly as well! But the fishing currently is on fire! Multiple snook redfish and tarpon days! This is my favorite time of year by far! Tends to be tidal so its easier to work with starting times just so we can fish the certain areas and have great days! Tarpon are still around if you are seeking to catch one on fly or spinning tackle! It just comes down to the presentation of the bait! Watch out for the photos and more reports in the coming week!
The "No School" has come to an end but the fishing is still going strong! It has been a very productive summer and it is currently looking like the Fall will be just as good or better! We have been catching tons of Snook, Redfish, and black drum! But the Silver King is still hanging around and showing off! Few of the resident Tarpon have been very happy in the Back Country and have been super hungry! Fishing is stronger everyday! So give me a call and lets get you out on the water! But not only have all fo the guides/captains been busy catching fish and making memories for clients. We have at the same time been fighting to protect these waters and the waters surrounding the Everglades. Huge thanks goes out to Captains For Clean Water and the captains helping them fight! We have made progress but still need to keep it going so our future generation will be able to enjoy fishing these waters! Look into Captains for Clean Water and help us raise money! When you sign up, donate or buy products from captains for clean water I will give a $50.00 discount on the next charter! Please sign up and help! In other news, last month was our 3rd annual Project Healing Waters event! Where for two days a few of the local guides and businesses support wounded veterans by taking them out on the water in the Everglades! For some of the men and women it is their first time experiencing this amazing place! Gives them the opportunity to enjoy a place that they all fought so hard for us to be able to fish on a daily basis! Look forward to next year! If youd like to help out next event reach out to me and I will get you involved! HEY ANGLERS,
